I will go to start the car in the morning, and it will start up, then it will come to an idle then go down n start stuttering and then die, but with me in the car and if i keep on the gas @ about 1500 rpm, until it gets warm, then it idles just fine at 900 rpm, any ideas y she does it?

Service the IAC and the MAF.
You can use carb cleaner for the IAC. But for the MAF, buy electrical cleaner from your local parts store. It doesn't leave a residue, so it gets a good clean.
Try that and report back.
Good luck.

Also look for vac leaks and see if the TB is dirty while you're working on the IAC.

Dont clean the IAC unless you're prepared to replace it (yours doesn't sound like it's doing too hot anyhow).

uh ohhh....i didnt see your post n i already cleaned out the iac with carb cleaner n cleaned the tb slot where it goes also.... we'll see wat happens, btw is there any way to check and c if the iac is shot?

See the "Surging Idle Checklist for help with all your idle/stall problems. Everything you need to find and fix idle problems is in there.

The first two posts contain all the updates to the fixes. At last count there were 24 possible causes and fixes for surging idle/stall problems. I continue to update it as more people post fixes or ask questions.

another thing the egr on the back of the tb isnt really connected to anything (vac wise) but elec it is, is that not helping matters? Can i just get rid of the pos also? i have no egrs on the pass fenderwell either and the wires are just hanging there and im not getting a check engine light either, is that normal? or is the light just burnt out u think lol

Why do you say that?
I've seen cleaning the IAC help out a LOT with smooth idling. I guess by the time it needs cleaning, its probably time to replace it. Its not too expensive anyway.

Also, there might me a DTC without the check engine light coming on. You can rent a scan tool from a parts store for free and see if there is any codes to be pulled.
Just shooting out possible FREE solutions.
Good luck.

What is dtc.. sorry not very smart on codes and elec yet, well im gonna go to work then after i get off ima try her, im driving the 1992 stang 2day with the 2.3 to work today, 4cyl POWA!!

DTC is an acronym for diagnostic trouble code.

And the cleaning of the IAC can lead to them simply crapping out altogether or performing worse than before.
As noted, if one is barely working, there's not much to lose by cleaning it. But always prepare to replace it in case the cleaning makes the situation worse. The harshtest thing I'll use on an IAC is WD40.

Use throttle body cleaner on your TB (teflon compatibility concerns).

Well went out to start her this mornign and still same surging idle would go from about 400 to 1500 rpm, settle at 900 then back up n down until it was warm then it idled just fine just like always... no clue, im gonna try to locate n purchase an iac n see wat happens, or do u think bc i have a cam in it with 1.7 rockers,?
