If i won the lotto, I'd still drive the stang

Without a doubt. To be totally honest i don't even have the urge to buy anything exotic except maybe an old Ferrari or Pantera. I'd just finish my mental picture of what my car is heading towards and be happy knowing i can blow the engine up once a week and not have to worry about it.

Nah if/when I'm rich, I might own a Mustang or two, but you better believe a bunch of better cars would be in the garage. Why just own Mustangs when you can have everything and anything!

i don't think he said anything about owning NOTHING but a Mustang

My garage would be the balls, but I'd certainly have my current Stang in there! :nice:

Y'know, I can totally see the logic behind DD'ing a Fox, even if you were filthy-rich. It's simple. If you were a car thief, or a punk that just likes to vandalize people's cars, which of the following would you find to be a more appealing target: a brand-new Ferrari, a Lamborghini Countach, a prototype Bugatti, a classic late 60's Porsche 911 ... or a 20-year-old Fox Mustang?

Seriously, I'm not sure if I would even be able to stomach owning a Ford GT or anything of the like, simply because I'd be afraid to take it anywhere. I'd live in constant paranoia that some idiot Mexican without a license or insurance would pull out in front of me and wreck it, or some blind/deaf/dumb old snowbird would back into it in a parking lot, or some straight-up douchebag would run a key all the way up one side of the paint and/or kick in a tail lamp lens just because it was there.

You cannot, I repeat, YOU CANNOT ever own something nice in this world without some butthole out there wanting to steal or destroy it. Just a simple fact ... because humanity sucks. :(

That being said, I'd rather just fix everything that needs fixin' on my GT, maybe throw on a mild H/C/I combo on it (GT40 heads/intake and a B- or E-cam), beef up the suspension, mayyyyyybe give it a Maaco paintjob, and then drive the hell out of it. Of course, being filthy rich, I wouldn't be content with just one Fox - I'd have a four-car stable of 'em with a 'vert, notch, LX hatch, and GT - but I wouldn't go hog-wild with any of them. Just being able to afford gas and repairs for them indefinitely would be enough to keep me happy for the rest of my years. :nice:

True of course BUT the odds of a car that screams "HERE I AM!!!" for a radius of 100 miles is statistically (at least from what I read, which could've been based on absolutely nothing...lol) less likely to be stolen vs. a car that's endlessly more likely to blend in with every other car on the road.

In most areas, anyway, I'm certain there are some high profile areas where supercars are commonplace and much more succeptable to being stolen vs. being in Billybobville, USA.

Truthfully a car thief would probably steal the Mustang because theres so much more of a market for parts.

There not much of a market for used (stolen) Ferrari parts, atleast not around here.

I think the most stolen cars are mid-'90's Honda's. Thats because theres a market for parts off them.

If I won the Lotto Id probably sell my Mustang and buy a new Shelby or something.
There would be no sense in dumping alot of money into an old car that breaks all the time if I was rich. Sure I do it know but I can somewhat afford to fix it a little at a time and I cant afford a newer car.

hummm, since the car is closing in on 20 years old, i think my best bet would be a complete ground up keeping the car 90-100 % as it came off the line, with some motor mods( stock block ) .. think about it in say 10 plus years how many stock fox bodies with all oem inside and out ( again few motor mods) will you see on the street in prime condition??? im guessing few , and to be able to say yea i own a fox body mustang all original, thats price less ( after spending big money on a ground up ) just my .2

p.s yea and i would take her out on a weekend or two and sho it off

I'd keep my '91, turn it into a track-only car, then buy:

-2004 Cobra w/ Kenne Bell
-2007 Saleen S281 Extreme
-2008 GT500 Super Snake
-2007 Roush 427R
-House with a garage big enough to hold all of them

ya but..........first thing i would do is restore my dads 76 cobra with a 5.4 lightning engine 6 speed/ 9 inch

then 03/04 cobra engine 6 speed for my fox with full cobra interior with 03/04 cobra wheels.(5 lug of course) pretty much a what they should of made in 88 mustang :d

then id buy a 1970 mach 1 for my dad

then id buy a 1970 BOSS 428 for myself.

and two 2007 GT500's for me and my old man...

( i couldnt of done anything i have done without the help of my dad so if give back)

then id build one huge ass garage on a 10 acer lot with a 2 story normal sized house and the garage about 100 feet behide it to the right then one trick alarm system for the garage that housed all the toys...

first off. the stang would go no where.

then id get a 89 lx 5.0 hatch.

build both.

then a convertable e46 bmw w. manual trans for my dad, and then id get a 04 overland grand cherokee. then id probaly get my dream bmw, which isnt an m3, it would be a 330 ci e46 with the performance (m) package.

oh yeah and id build my girl a white lx hatch AOD with 03 cobra wheels, 5 lug, good brakes, and a h/c/i

haha those seem like sardine dreams when you have a caviar budget!!! no supercar???

I would build my Mach 1 into the ultimate Mach...I would drop in a Whipple blown 5.4 aluminum ford GT motor & a Viper spec T56 tranny...

then I would buy all my favorite Stangs from each bodystyle excluding 71-78...

-66 GT 350
-68 GT500
-70 Boss 302
-70 Mach 1 428 cj
-86 GT with T tops
-93 cobra
-87-90 Saleen
-95 Cobra R
-2008 Parnelli Jones mustang

& then I would look outside the box & get a new M5 for a DD....:nice:

Why would ANYONE with millions daily drive a fox. I might have one that was done to the hills but it would not be a daily driver only a toy car to play with on weekends.

+1 I mean I'd keep the car, but considering all the other cars out there to pick from... I am guessing it wouldn't get driven a whole lot. There are A LOT of cool cars out there! And this coming from a HUGE fox fan.

And in response to the guy who was worried about someone keying or wrecking a high $ car....That's easy, you save the Ford GT or what have you for a weekend cruizer and have a custom made sleeper built as your daily driver. Maybe something like a 5 or 6 year old V8 luxury sedan and swap in a Termi drivetrain or something... You could definately afford to be creative with that kind of $
