I have a friend who is interested in talking to some of you who's involved in the street racing culture. He is studying at the university right now, eventually wanting to work with performance tuning of cars and is going to write a thesis about street racing.

I think the police has better methods of getting involved than having someone submitting a post for them, besides my friend is from Denmark.

You are posting in the wrong forum. There are other websites that are specific for certain areas in the united states involving racing. This and the corral are most definately the wrong place. The best way your buddie is going to learn is to go and experience it himself. Tell him to wait for the ****talking and in about 2 hours there will be a race.

I know of some street race locations in Denmark where he is from, the problem is he is especially interested in American cars, so he needs to get in touch with someone over here.

I've been interviewed by the cops off the record... been published in a local racing paper about how the club got started... and have volunteered to testify in court reguarding the possible closing of a local drag strip.

Some would joke that I was the "Godfather" back in Pittsburg, KS. Our club is primarily stangs.

Street Racing in the US vs. Street Racing in denmark. Probably 2 different scenarios. So I dont think we cant exactly help.

I havent been out to the races in a long time so Im not the right person to talk to anyways. Just pointing you into a better direction.

And stop being so sketchy you might get better responses. Other than the fact this site doesn't condone street racing. Everyone here goes to the track. Most people here are in school or have jobs and stangnet/mustangs is a hobby.

Let me tell you this kinda like Gcomfx.Com said, I have been followed, pulled over, questioned and harassed by cops (among many other things) because me and my friends had gotten a lil lets say "well known" for our racing. I don't even explain anything i've seen but, this is one thing I'll tell anyone who thinks about street racing "you never know what can or will happen." You better think and be prepared for the consequences if your going to street race. This is coming from a 21 year-old who has been lucky. As for this guy I can't contribute anything from my racing past, kinda scetchy dude asking the questions plus as we all say we did it we just don't talk about it.

Ohh no I've already said too much, lol believe me you don't even know the half of it.

I dont understand what you are after? If you want personal experiences just search for the kill thread thats floating around there are tons in there. In terms of "stepping it up" to where amounts of money get exchanged, anyone that would talk about that online is pretty slow. You'd have better luck at honda-tech. All those cars are at least 11 seconds and they eat our slow domestics anyway..........

I think I know what he's getting at.... as long as you choose your words carefully, there are ways to educate the world and not get yourself in a lot of trouble.

My g/f has even given speeches in college about street racing. There are a lot of things that way off in our area and how people see Street Racing. People just need to realize that it's not just the big cities... and FNF is full of crap.

Our club actually gained some sponsorships from the local drag strip. Plus we rent out the track once a year.

I had a dream once about the street races I went to. It is basically a whole bunch of people who are scared to race anything remotely close to their hp range. Also, a bunch of stupid moves.
The street races in my dreams all turned into car shows because it was a safer and funner environment for all the imaginary people to attend.

Regarding being sketchy. I must admit I don't know a whole lot about my friends thesis, so I can't go into details about it. I was recently on vacation in Denmark, and he told me he was interested in getting to talk to someone from the states regarding the street racing culture here and he had had a tough time knowing where to look. I offered to help him, as I frequent visit Stangnet and Corral and thought some of you guys could help; which it showed out you could (thanks for the PM's) .

As for my credibility; I have been on this board since June 2001 and you can search the archives for my posts, to see it's not all "law" fixated - actually this is the first one, well perhaps except one where I replied to a radar detector question.

I appreciate your answers, links and ideas; I am forwarding the information to him tonight and I know he will be happy.

If you don't feel I answered your questions, just let me know and I'll type some more.
