I know a lot of you here have 87-93 quarter windows on a 79-86, so I need your help.

I put some on my 86 LX (hatch), and there are three studs off the front edge of the window, that have no holes to go through on the 86 body. The studs are just sitting there. There are also two or three on the bottom of the window.

What did you do about these? The only place the window is bolted in is the rear angled part.
I'm afraid of it leaking water and having wind leaks.
Also, the 87+ windows don't seal up in the same place either.

What I did was put a washer big enough to hit the lip of the panel. Or you coul get some flat metal or aluminum and cut it where it reaches the body and drill a whole where the stud is...

So it seems to seal up good that way? That's probably what I'll do. I had the same idea about those brackets earlier too.

Thanks Myke!

What I did on my 86 was take the old brackets and cut them in half so I could use them to pull the front of the window tight against the body. Also go to an auto body supply store and pick up a tube of urethane window adhesive to seal them in place. If you tell them what you are doing they will know what to give you.It is used for installing windshields, quarter windows and can even be used to glue tail light lenses in place.
