If you raise fuel pressure, does the computer correct the richer condition?

I heard about this before, but didn't quite understand it.

If you raise the fuel pressure, wouldn't the computer adjust how much fuel the injectors are squirting to compansate for the richer condition due to the higher fuel pressure?

The computer only adjusts the fuel/air during cruise. When at WOT the computer goes to pre-set fuel tables for WOT which is around 12:1 for a stock engine.

When you start to add power to your car, those tables are no longer valid. Cruise is ok because the computer is adjusting it for 14.7:1, but at WOT it's still drawing from its stock fuel tables. Increasing fuel pressure helps increase fuel at WOT. The disadvantage if you go to high is that the computer has a hard time adjusting the mixture, and worn injectors are more likely to leak.
