what do you guys pay for insurance?

i have slowly gotten on my mom's nerves about me putting a 303 and a t5 in my mustang when i turn 17 to where all i need now is my dad's approval.

he said if my grades are good sure.

so for you who are 16, 17, and 18 how much do you pay for your insurance for your 5.0

and another question

my stang is a 6cyl auto right now. if i put the 5.0 in it would i have to go get the title changed or something or what?

thanks :SNSign:

My capri was a 4 cyl, now it has a 5.0. I didn't have to get the title changed at all. I'm in Az tho. Might be different laws in other states. Dude, I did not know you were 14. My son is 14. I feel so old. LOLL

I pay 4 cylinder insurance for mine :D .....I should probably have it changed though. My car is a magnet for other cars to run into.... Not much that you can do with 4 cylinder insurance money.

i'm 16 pay 35 bucks a month on my mustang and 87 (liability only) on my DD. My Mustang has full coveragebut it is under my dads name as a recretional vehicle(under 7k miles a year), plus my dad is 45. My advice is change it but don't tell anybody.

mine's t 2.9 on a good day lol worst i ever got was 2.7 first quatar back at school after a very long summer.

my only fear is that if someone tee bones me and my car is totaled that the inshurance company wont pay because it has a 302 or 347 stroker in it??? idk.

man just get on it. If grades are an issue about EVN GETTING a 302 and a 5 spd, I say u'd have to get better than a 2.9 to impress your dad. My dad busts my ass for anything lower than 3.5, right now i have a 3.8 and in 2 gifted, one AP class, and 1 honors..

my dad is listed on the insurance as the primary driver on the mustang which is listed as recreational vehicle, Im 19 though, so I got a little bit of a break in insurance this past year, Im listed as driving out 96 Jeep Cherokee beater, and because its 4x4 it is about $600/quarter or a half a year, something like that, about 3x as much as mustang premiums

dont expect cheap prices unless the car is insured under your parents. if you do the engine swap you can still get away with insuring the car as a 6cyl, but if you get in an accident and the company finds out that you have highly modified your vehicle they wont cover anything you have done to your vehicle and could possibly drop you in the future. that's what my company told me anyway
