It seems like my ignition box was the reason I havnt had a car all summer long. the tracks are almost closed around here- done at the end of october. I caved and gave my car to a shop-damn it. The guy is gonna take my box off and see how things go. i wish he didnt have to because i paid over $220 for the thing but whatever if it works.

The reason for this post is for me to collect some intel. as to what has happened to others when their ignition box sh#t the bed on them.

My car had a wicked bad miss/bad timing even though the timing was set perfectly at idle. under load the car sounds like its missing or the timing is way off (just said that) and its down on power. my idle some how decided to settle at a fuel concious 3600 rpm and when i got on it it would hesitate, pop, and shake. when i got to a stop light the car felt like someone was shaking it from the rear.

has this happened to you?
i have just replaced my ignition module, coil, dizzy, wires, and plugs- all mallory products.
my box is a mallory digital hi-fire ignition (POS). it was pretty cool when it worked, it would retard timing for boost/nos applications, had a built in rev limiter, a tach hook up and some other cool stuff i didnt get to play with or just didnt understand. Im thinking of getting a new box but may just say f-it if the car drives good enough with out it. I want a PMS and corbeau cr1 seats in the immediate future- and a griggs or MM full suspension package and paint sometime during this winter during the off season (thanks NE weather)

Join the crowd brother, I have been down that same road many many times. Seems that when something is fixed, something else lets go.

silvrbullit302, hows your dss engine treating you? are you happy with your purchase or do you wish you went a different route. has it let you down at all? just curious b/c i want a new engine maybe their 331xr?
