Is there a major difference between a regular "OE replacement" module and the "hi perf" version from accel? or is the only difference a lilltle bit longer dwell time? The only solid thing that i read about it is that its more reliable, but the one that just went out was 18 years old...how much more reliable do you really need?

I would just stay with stock, at one time I thought about getting another one myself and even upgrading the ignition system itself but after searching and talking with some peeps on here the stock system is just fine and pretty much the other stuff is money wasted. unless others disagree I think stock is fine.

I agree. OEM is tough to beat.

We don't really need additional dwell. The stock ignition has been dyno shown to hold up to nearly 400 hp NA.

I'd almost rather use a multiple spark box to achieve more spark energy and duration anyhow.

thanks for the input, and saving me some cash...i couldnt figure out how they could say it was more reliable then oe, when my oe lasted 18 years!! i guess that one would last 19....but thanks again, can always count on you guys for great info!!!:SNSign:
