I am having some issues that i think might be caused from my ignition module. Im going to see if i can get mine tested first. I know i have a 6 pin one but when i was looking for replacements i noticed that they also list a 9 pin ignition module for a 94 mustang 302.

So I guess my real question is why do they offer a 9 pin module? Do automatics or something use a 9 pin?

After i narrowed the search to 6 pin on summit it went from like 5 different choices to 1. And i also notice that other places offer the dyna modules for the 94 302's. But its a 9 pin also?

You should find that 9 pin TFI's are for dizzy-mounted TFI modules (like an aero fox).

My guess is a bad cross-reference.

Apparently my ex-husband made that mistake.

+1. A 9 pin module will not work. If you have a high end ignition box, like a Digital 6 there are ways to wire it without an ignition module.

How is that? and if so is that adventageous or not cause i do have a digital 6. Im looking at the dyna mod or the accel one now.

I honestly don't know how to do it. I still have my ignition module hooked up for wiring simplicity, but I have seen Mustangs run the whole ignition system through the Digital 6. I wired mine with a bypass plug I keep in the glove box, so I can bypass the Digital 6 if I have to. I am on my 4th Digital 6 now, and I have grown a distrust for the unit. I bought one of the first Digital 6s ever made when it came out in 99.' I've had this last Digital 6 for over 6 years now, so I think they finally worked out the bugs on it. You can call MSD and see if they can send you over a wiring diagram. I'm sure there is information on the interweb on how to do it.
