I went to start my '82 tonight and all of a sudden it doesn't start.
Then I noticed that the positive wire to the coil was melted against the header!!
I have a Mallory distributor that has the module inside the cap. Do you think I shorted out the module? I'm not getting any voltage across the coil now.

I got it started. It was a dumb mistake on my part.
I flipped the wrong switch on my switch panel. Instead of the switch to power the coil I was flipping the reverse lights.
In case you're wondering what the hell I'm talking about, I have a switch panel like the race cars do wired inside my car. I just need to label the switches.
