Lately my switch intermittently is hard to turn and no ( nothing) doesn't start
then I either try again and it fires up or I turn the wheel a little and it fires up.
just ordered a new cylinder with keys I figure it's 30 years old.
could this be something else?

Might be the ignition switch. That is different than the keyed ignition cylinder, which is the part that you ordered. The ignition switch is inside the steering column, and is a known failure point.

I ordered both , but I did replace the switch on the column a few years back as the original had come apart.

I also ordered a headlight switch so I can take mine apart( if it comes apart) to do resistor/diode like I did to hazard/rear defrost switch.
Still bothers me after I did led dash lights ,and no one has done headlight switch , yet !

Took my old headlight switch apart and cllpped off light inside.
I soldered a resister to a blue diode from the kit a got on amazon, same kit I used for hazard/rear defogswitch.
The my old
solder iron gave up the ghost
As soon As a get another I'll report back with outcome and pics.I
