I want to get about 4 gauges (oil pressure, water temperature, voltage and electric fuel pressure gauges) as well as a tach with a shift light. I'm looking at the Autometer C2 line.

Has anyone had problems installing these?? Is it a case where they plug into existing fittings or do you need to slice and splice??

Any help would be appreciated.

Hooking up gauges is easy in concept, but hard in reality. Are they mechanical gauges? Or electrical gauges? Do you want you stock gauges to work also?
On the water temp you can put on a new thermostat housing that has a outlet for aftermarket gauges. The oil sender is down by the oil filter, you might have to put an extension & T to get it out far enough to use both sending units. The fuel guage will need an isolator, you do NOT want fuel running inside the car!!! It connects on the fuel rails.
The gauges will have instructions on how to connect.

oil pressure is a pain in the ass, getting to the stock sending unit is a pain and if you get electrical oil pressure putting that huge sender down there is a pain in the ass. overall oil is a pain in the ass, in our cars anyways, in fox bodies its easy to get to.

I just installed a mechanical temp gauge two days ago. First time I've done it. Like said earlier, its not a hard concept but just a pain in the rear running all the wires, splicing into the power for the lights, mounting, hiding the wires, ect.
