ive been looking to buy an off road h pipe for my 02 and have noticed that its slim pickin's for 99 and up cars. anyway, i dont really want to go with mac but have only seen them and jegs has a house brand one too. the jegs piece is $140 on their website with free shipping. its aluminized steel, just like mac, but when i think about it, the quality may be less then, or at best, equal to the mac piece.

if it comes down to it, and i go with mac, what im confused about is that some ad pics show the one piece unit, while others show the sectioned unit that ive heard about, where you can interchange it with cats, or a chamber or both.

how do i know which one ill get.

mind you id rather go with a different brand but dont know where to find them.

my mind is 99% made up on goin with an H so dont try to turn me, its the sound im lookin for. ill only go with an X as a last resort.....

My MAC (purchased in May 2005) was a three piece unit (two legs and the H crossover section).

Some of the Jeg's pieces require fabrication, so be careful what you buy.

BBK and MRT also have H Pipes. I had the MAC on my 96' GT and had no problems, sounded awesome with my 2 chamber flows.

how about JBA? I have been looking into the same thing for my american thunder cat back and wonder how the JBA and shorty's would match up, and how the quality is?

^ Ahh so thats why my car sounds soo good J/K...but it does sound great! True Xs like the DR Gas sound AWSOME! So do the VRS Xs. I have heard the VRS (also true) with flows sounded great! And I have heard mine...also sounds great! Then I have heard a bassani O/R X (not true X design) and weldin flows...LOUD and sounded pretty bad IMHO. All raspy and just loose sounding.
There is a HUGE difference between these two types of Xs. To me they sound better than Hs...infact I changed my H to a Dr gas X on my 66, and changed the flows for magnaflows. Havnt cranked it up much (no fuel line), but what I heard sounded good!

I just gave a guy a ride in the car tonight (owns a 5.0) and its funy that after I nailed it, hes like "man that sounds good....and sounds really smooth". The X gives a very smooth sound, i dont think anyone would disslike it.

As I say in every thread where people bash Mac products, they aren't crap. They are cheap, they sound great, and if you pay the extra 10 bucks for the coated version, you don't get the rust people got back in the day.

Mine was installed almost a year ago, and still looks like it did when I put it on.

Because some people have problems with some of their products. I tried the Mac 70mm tb a few years back and it always idled to high and it felt like it was sticking. I'm also going tomorrow to get the drives side manifold flange welded on my MacProchamber because it has devolped a 1" crack along the weld. But it is 4yrs old.
