ok look i switched from a 2 bbl carb and manifold on a 72 302, to a 4bbl edelbrock F4B (high rise) and a 600 holley. nothing fancy right.......now i need to know on the holley there is obviously the fuel inlet.....and another inlet or outlet on the lower passenger side of the carb....what is that for? On my old 2bbl i had a little hard line running from the exhaust manifold to a little port that looks to be like or something near the same thing as on the holley but im not sure.....essentially i need to know what that little port on the passenger side of holley is for? Sorry for being a rook at this stuff....

It's the choke tube.

It pipes warm air from the exhaust manifold to a temperature-sensitive coil of metal in the little drum on the carb. When the engine warms up enough, the coil opens the choke plate and lets the engine run normally.

Make sure the tube is installed and operating correctly, or your choke will probably never open, resulting in power loss and a rich mixture!

Ditch the choke altogether, I doubt you need it in sunny S. California. If that connection you're asking about fits a 3/8 hose, then that's the PCV port. The port on the rightside of the main metering block is for the vacuum advance. By the way ------ Good choice of intakes. The old F4B may be old, but it's still a good one, just as good if not better than the newer Performer RPM.

A pic would be great with a question like this.
The second option would be posting the part number.
It is hard to get a good answer when folks don't even know what 600 Holley you are working on. There are a huge number of possibilities and variables among 600 Holleys.

alright check this out, ill try to get a pic posted by tonight my time or during the day......so yall can solve this stuff and i can be focused in skool instead of thinkin bout this ride......you know sometimes i think real mustangs out on the prairie are easier to tame......
