As some might know. I had my engine and trans out of the car for a full makeover. TKO600, TFS H/C/I, shortblock wire brush and paint, and all supporting mods. Well, i had the engine sitting on the engine crane and i was sitting in my chair in the garage listening to some tunes and smoking ciggarettes. Perfect comfortable atmosphere to install a teflon rear main seal. Well, I had a minor knick in the crank from removing the old one. I used a drill and a screw. I said "u know what, im done f...ing with this engine, time to get it done". Instead of buying the crank sleeve, I threw the new rms in. The knick didnt look like it was anywhere near the inner lip. skip to the end of the story now? Ok, well after putting about 100 weekend warrior miles on the new setup, I sure enough, like i expected, saw a little oil drip underneath there on the new tranny bellhousing. Nothing on the garage floor though. Its minor. Some would be pissed. but me? I actually laughed and said "son of a bitch". the car had rms leak before so, im not bothered. Yes i did put new pcv valve and screen in, new flywheel, and balancer. This engine is only staying for another 2 years or so, till I get the the stroker. Thanks for reading my post if your still reading. Damn rms's.

I think all Fords have RMS leaks. I have come to live with it, and don't really worry until it's bad.

It may be excess fluid from the tranny? When I put my tko in and drove for a while I got a little excess coming down in that area and and it stopped after a while. It wasn't engine oil. Just a thought. I was thinking if you used the synchromesh in the TKO, that crap is damn near the color of fresh engine oil and could be what you are seeing. Just a thought.
