I ordered my car in Sept. vin number end in 0669. I know the car is built and was scheduled to be here the last week of Oct. No car yet - So I'm going out on tomorrow to buy something else.

Crappy car company, what the hell are they pushing it from Michigan to Chicago? Don't sell it if you can't deliver it. I am so pissed at this point. I havn't owned a Ford for 15-years (rear main seals always leak) but this new stang is alot like my '68 so I thought I would get one. Not now not ever.

Oh well, once a ****ty car company always a ****ty car company

Did your salesperson give a reason for the delay? or was this just an excuse to rip Ford?

Thats not even a contest Z06 runs in the mid 12s and I know of good drivers that have taken it into the high 11's stock (time slips and video). What are the best numbers so far. Mid 13s to low 14s

I understand your frustration
If thats the way you feel then dont buy a Ford!
me personally i cant understand why you would want one when you have a ZO6
Thats like wanting chicken when you have turkey on your plate!

Mid 13's seem to be the numbers it's going to run. If the Z06 runs that good yes it would beat the 05 but I dont really planning on leaving mine stock for very long.
And there is always someone faster...for you me and the next guy.

Not really, the Mustang is a good looking car that would have been fun to drive. Besides I don't drive the vette daily and I'm keeping the Vette no matter what I get. But it would have been cool to have both a Mustang GT and a Vette.

If Ford thinks they are alone in the segment and can screw up without missing customers then Bill outta look around at the competion in the 25k -30k segment. There are alot of trick cars out there for that price.

No reason, I asked about the rumor of a dispute with carriers, heads, Mycolor all that and no reason. Dealer claims to have no idea where the fricking car is so they can have it. Rip on Ford, no I can rip Chevy just as well for crappy customer service(dealer problem) on one of their most expensive cars. Some dealers are good some not so good.

I am just tired of waiting on car that should be here with no explanation.

It is funny.

Don't try to belittle a $25K Mustang with a $55K Corvette. It's called apples and oranges.

Well I agree on both statements. I ordered my 05 4 weeks ago and am waiting on some news as well. But it gets here when it gets here (I wont be driving it untill April or May anyway.

If your unhappy with the dealer you should let him know you are unhappy and go to a different dealer if they don't satisfy you.

What? I was going to get one (Mustang) until the company could not deliver it. So no, I wasn't belittling the car. That was just a smart response to a smart response - read at top FordRacing. (More for us)

I guess I should have replied "you can have it, since it won't be delivered till the next model year."

I love ford to death but even they should have seen the demand coming from all the controversey being generated and all. Nonetheless it still has good reviews and is a very nice looking car, but it is sad that I am yet to see one in person myself yet because truth be told, I can't find any dealer around with one actually in stock yet

The demand is overwhelming, what can you say?

Sorry you didnt wait around for your Mustang. I ordered mine the last week of June when each dealer was allocated the first orders. It was worth the wait. Mine came in on Nov 1st. Ford dragged their feet, but they also sent production to a new plant, and the quality control was foremost. They (Ford and dealer) have been in touch with me since the day I ordered. So that dealer you were working with should have taken more initiative. Jon

Yeah, I understand what you are saying Jon but the C6 Vette will run 25K to 30,000 cars a year and is a JD Power quality winner year after year. The Mustang runs 100,000+ cars a year. I see C6s on the road but no '05 stangs. So even if you are right don't you think I should see at least 2 mustangs to every vette?

The problem is Ford will waste the intial excitement for the car and see the excess demand just dry up. carpe diem as they say. All the extra demand will go elsewhere soon. Becuase as I said in an earlier post we are quickly approaching the next model year and there are plenty of trick 25-30k cars to be had. 350Z comes to mind.

In toledo area alone there are 3 black gt's, 3 torch red 1 silver, that I have seen at 4 dealers, with multiple v6 cars. In detroit, there are also alot of them on lots. dont know where you live and dont know what you ordered, if you want one they are available and not marked up. I got a call from Brondes ford in Maumee, Oh they have 2 black gt's in, I am going to my local very small town ford dealer to test drive a black gt tomorrow.

If I understand you correctly, it's less than two weeks late. Are you that impatient that two weeks is such a big deal? Have you made any attempts to find why there's a delay?
