After swapping in the TKO my keyless entry doesn't work.

Does anyone know how this systemn works?

I just replaces the batteries for the remote thingy on my keychain. And Ive checked all the fuses. Everything is in working order. Except when I hit the button the doors dont lock or unlock. Im clueless, anyone have any suggestions.

Well, the one thing that is messing me up is that I think I fried the module or whatever recieves the signal from the remote.

This happened after the battery was disconnected for about 2 days.

Anyone know where any of the keyless entry components are in the car so I can examine them. And ive read the manual 3 time on the fuse box. Anyone know which fuse corresponds to the ekyless entry system?

Module is in the trunk on the driver side inner quarter panel behind the carpet. Turn the ignition on and short the connectors of the plug that is just hanging there with nothing plugged into it. Push any button on your remote and the any button on any other remotes you have and then pull your jumper wire out and turn ignition off. Should reprogram and work. If not then it could have a blown fuse or maybe and broke wire?

all fuse numbers are for fuses on the dash fuse panel

fuse 12 20A CB (door locks power)

fuse 8 10A (main power)

fuse 6 15A (IGN signal)

I'd give the reprogramming a try.

The keyless entry module is mounted on the back of a black plastic panel behind the drivers side trunk liner.

It also has a radio antenna plug in it that the antenna plugs into, perhaps that coinencendtly came loose (doubt it).

Thanks for all the info this far. 95stang, I believe this is what I have to do however, I have no idea what you are talking about. I stumbled across a thread in a random forum about this. And when I took out the inner lining in my trunk I couldn'y find the module. I doubt anyone has a pic but what is "Short the connector" meen. I did find a connector next to the anti theft module that was just chillin. Would that be it.

The FORD installed anti theft module is on the front of that plastic piece, while the keyless entry module is on the back of it. You have to take out the entire plastic piece to get the keyless module off.

There should be a 2 pin connector (with, IIRC, flat terminals) taped to the harness. One wire is white/yellow stripe and the other is grey/yellow stripe.

Short the connectors is just connect the terminals. Use a screwdriver, or wire, or anything metal.

There is another 2 pin connector nearby (also taped to harness) that has one wire with a white/pink stripe and the other is red/light blue for the starting circuit. It has a jumper in it (with a light green wire) if you don't have a FORD installed alarm. Otherwise, it also has nothing plugged into it.

Worked like a charm. As soon I put the screw driver the doors locked and unlocked, then I hit a button on the remote and turned the key off. The doors again unlocked and locked. Now it works.

BTW, I didn't have to take anything off other then the trunk lining, the connector is sticking out next to where the anti theft device it.
