so, about 2 months ago when i bought my stang, the dealer gave me a 2 year 24000 mile warranty with it, so i brought it to my shop becuse it was making noise in the rear end, the shop called it in to the warranty company, and after the shop answered a few questions, the warranty company sent the shop 900 dollars to fix the car.. I asked about the gear ratio and they said it doesnt matter what they put in it as long as it costs less than 900 dollars lol. i had them order FRPP 4.10 gears, so now im basically getting 4.10 gears and getting the rear end rebuilt for FREE! how awesome is that? :D:D:D:D:D

haha, seriously!

so i'm debating.. i did a search on 4.10 gears on google, and a lot of people say that ill get a drop in mileage and ill lose a lot of top end.. is that true? i know the mileage will go down, but it wont go down THAT much will it? basically what are the pros vs drawbacks with 4.10's?

They gonna spring for a Speed Cal, or a hand held tuner to correct your speedo as well. ;)

...and trust me, I'm sure they more than made up for it with what they charged you for the car initially. They don't call them "stealerships" for nothing. :D

right on man. when i had my 98 gt it came with a 1 year 12000 mile warrenty from the car lot i bought it from. i ended up spinning a rod bearing and they replaced it with a lower milage motor and all i had to pay was a 100$ duductable

I've had my 4.10's for about a year and a half now. City MPG seems to increase slightly, HWY went down a little bit. At a constant speed of 75 - 80mph through a T45, I get around 20 - 21mpg. T3650 may or may not get ever so slightly better.

Lose top end? No way. It's more pull in every gear, at any RPM range. It didnt make it stupid fast or anything, but it really woke the car up. And its really nice that 5th gear is useable for more than just the highway.
