I'm torn on which upper intake to go with...

OK, heres the deal. I'm in the process of building a 408W. I have a custom cam, AFR 205 heads w/nitrous porting and a TFS 351 intake. The engine probly won't see over 6000 RPM's, and eventually I plan on running a 150-200 hit of nitrous on this motor as well, but probly not the coming season.

ANYWAY, like I said, I have the TFS 351 intake, but I'm really thinking about switching to the box R upper. I originally bought this intake for just a mild 351, but it's turned in to a monster of a 408 over time ;) So I'm thinking maybe this upper intake isn't sufficient anymore. The thing I'm mainly concerned about with the switch is the hood clearance. I'm not sure if I can bear the look of a 4" + cowl on my car.

Anyway, do you guys think the performance difference is worth the gaudy looks of a 4" hood? Is my current upper intake gonna run out of steam early in the rpm's?

Thanks in advance for the thoughts and opinions :canada:

My opinion -
The long runner intakes are far too restrictive for stroked 351w blocks.
Box upper is the only way to go, especially if the car will be mostly used on the track.

With my combo, I don't feel like I lack power in the low end.

I too would love to see some dyno sheets though!

EDIT: I am using the stock hood
