In need Dent puller 101

Today i bought a dent puller from kragen for like $15 and a body hammer for $6 .I want to repair my 1/4 panel ,its not to big of a job so i thought id save some cash and do it myself. The thing is ive never done any bodywork in my life  but Ive seen a dent puller used a couple times. So any help on how to use the dent puller would be great also any web sites you know on bodywork would help greatly :D

Whatever you do....do not use the kind of dentpuller where you have to drill holes in the sheetmetal....EVER!, unless you have a welder to fill the holes afterwards but I still don't like or recommend them. I have the kind that welds a little copper peg to the metal and after pulling you simly cut it off and grind it down. I realize these are expensive but if you can rent one then do so.

Absolutely correct. Not only will the holes give rust a place to start, the puller will over pull the area around the hole, and make it much harder to repair.
