any brand street carb will have about the same quality, performance, and fuel economy. Most negative comments stem from a lack of proper tuning or understanding. Every brand has the occasional lemon, what do expect with a cast part with lots of tiny internal passageways, but generally, when tuned, they are all pretty much equal in a street application. At a racetrack, you'll see nothing but holleys, but thats a whole 'nother story.
