Infamous Tremec Vibration issue finally solved

I've had the infamous high speed vibration issue ever since I put the TKO-500 in my '94 almost 2 years ago. After 4 different OEM and FRPP driveshafts and multiple rebalances at the local driveshaft shop, I finally decided to contact a shop with a high speed balancer (10k rpm). This brought me to www.dennysdriveshaft.com. I shipped them my latest aluminum shaft and the said it was like a "jump rope" on the balancer. They also stated it looks like it had been made that way. I broke down and told them to go ahead and build me a shaft and make it 5/8" longer so I don't need the spacer. They used my old yokes and total was $305 shipped. Installed it this evening and now it drives smooth as silk. Hope this helps someone else that may be having the same issue.

I had a custom driveshaft built for mine, but it still has the vibration. I put in some adjustable UCA's and that fixed about 90% of the vib's. I think adjusting them a little more would fix it completely, but I've been too lazy to work on it. :)

A while back there was a pretty big thread on the Corral similar to this one about Tremecs doing the shake thing.

IIRC ... The focus was all about improper installation causing the angle to be wrong on the driveline.

I thought and fought all that too, my fix came by accident when I grenaded a U-joint at FFW Houston... Tommie Vaughn Motorsports hooked me up with a '96-04 FRPP aluminum driveshaft and upon sliding it in I had no more vibes.

I have since flipped my crossmember back and forth to attempt to induce vibration, no success. Basically just use the crossmember however it fits.

The corral consensus seemed to be crossmember/angle related, however the majority who fixed it did so with D/S balancing...

when i was doing the t5 to tremec swap i measured from the center of the output shaft on the t5 to the ground (stock mount height) and then when i was installing the tremec i found it was almost an inch lower then the t5. so i had two 1/2" metal spacers made for the trans mount and this brought it back up perfect

when you guys say vibration, do you mean at high speed or high RPM?

I have vibrations at 3k and up to about 4500. speed has no bearing on it either. driveshaft out of balance?
