injector upgrade on a non mass air car

how do i upgrade my injectors on my 86gt,i know that on air flow meter cars the meter as to be calibrated according to the injectors but on a non mass air car is there something special i have to do? thank you

You'd have to get a special tune. I've heard of people trying to band-aid it by adjusting fuel pressure and messing with a few other things, but it really can't be done effectively without a tune.

What are you trying to do? Sometimes you can stretch the limit of the 19lb injectors by increasing fuel pressure, but if you go too far you could run into part-throttle operation issues. If you are planning on building an engine capable of more than 300 FWHP, you should really just cough up the green for a MAF conversion and larger injectors, as 300 FWHP (about 250-270 RWHP) is really the accepted limit for 19lb injectors.
