I have a clicking sound from under my hood i am pretty sure it is one my my injectors. So today i went down to the local shop and had the guy look at it and put it up on the lift and all of that to see what he thinks and he said it was a injector lift. He said it was getting stuck. So what they did was they pinched off the gas line ran some treatment threw it then let it run till all the treatment was gone. He said that it gets rid of all of the carbon. I could see all kinds of things like black dust and some dirty water (He said it was condinsation) Comeing from my exhaust. I am not sure what this is called but was i jipped in to getting somethign that will not fix the problem? It did make the noise quiet down. He also put some stuff in the gas tank and said that after running it a bit the injector would stop. So was i screwed over for a 100 bucks on something i did not need? Also i replaced the fuel filter while i was at it. Should i get ready to buy a new injector? Thanks in advance

hmmmm. Well i guess it was not wasted money. Question now is do i need to replace the injector that is making noise? I here a clicking sound when my car is ideling. it is not very loud. you can not hear it if you are inside but if you are outside with the hood up you can hear it. i guess i just worry about things a little too much. The guy at the ford place told me it would be 60 bucks to hook it up to the computer and tell me it was bad. what a joke. I can tell that somethign is wrong he shoudl pay me 60 bucks to already know what is wrong. lol i think my ford place sees me as dollar bills every time i walk in there. pisses me off.

only one with this problem? will auto zone be able to tell me which injector is bad by running the codes?
Has a SES light come on? They won't be able to tell anything if it hasn't thrown a code.
I have never heard of an injector "clicking" before. Make sure it isn't an exhaust leak before you start paying for services that will NOT remedy your situation.
Does it make the sound when the car is under load when driving as well?

Its just the injectors clicking. I wouldn't worry about it. It is a good idea to run some cleaner through the injectors once in a while too. The price seems a little steep unless that includes the install of and the fuel filter.

yea i paid 130 bucks for a fuel injector and some pressure cleaning of the injectors. where they hook it up to the shop air and put some chemical in there unhook the gas and run this juice threw my car. then they put some stuff in the tank. I checked the exhaust before i did the cleaning. Everythign was bolted fine. i pushed and pulled and beat and bang on everythign from headers back. all fine. CLICKING WHEN I DRIVE TOO. not very loud but i can hear it. anythign to wory about? The guy at the ford place told me that it woudl be 100 bucks for one injector and 130 to put it in. :bang: that is a 24 pound injector. i see bosch 24 pound injectors 8 of them for 250 wtf.

All injectors click...if someone hasn't heard it, they just aren't listening well enough. I would leave it alone unless it goes bad.

If you think that's expensive try replacing one of the coils. A buddy of mine had to replace one on his lightning. It was $180 from Ford....and he works at a Ford dealership!!! OUCH!

yea that sucks. LOL and he got the employee rate that ford gets. I get that too since my buddy works at ford. As long as nothing can go wrong then i do nto mind the clicking. The guy at the ford place said that it would be like 60 somethign dollars to hook it up to a computer to tell me which injector it is. i said nah i do not want to pay 60 dollars to have you tell me which one it is then tell me it woudl be better to replace them all at the same time. (They always do this to me, tell me one is bad i should replace everything) So as i was on my way out of the service dept. he says "I would not let that go in a car like that, if one of the injectors does not fire then you could fry a cylinder then blow the top part of your engine" I asked him how that happens he said it does not get what it needs lol. this was a FORD EMPLOYEE
