Inner Shift boot neccesary?

I have a tri-ax and was wondering if i could just take out the inner shift boot b/c i think it gets in the way sometimes
Anyways...should i take it out, i like the sound of the tranny whine

its not necessary but i notice on my car without it i get a lot more heat and exhaust in the car. but if you dont mind that youll be fine without it

I think that it will prevent alot fumes and crap from getting in the car, take it off if you want but don't through it out

Take it off and sell it to me. I ripped mine, so ive been going without one. Just hear my exhaust leak better(im fixing that tomorrow btw...lol)

it drove me nuts, so i put it back in (with aftermarket shifter). i would put it in.

Trust Me... You'll get sick of the tranny whine within time. You probably wont like fumes, dust, and other noise's coming through into the car as well. Keep The Boot.

Worse complain is the heat. It somehow likes to creep through the leather boot just enough to piss you off, lol. Wish I could remember where I left it to put it back...

I thought I could leave it out when I put in my B&M Ripper b/c it was torn to pieces. 3 days later I went to the ford dealer and shelled out $15 for a new one. I just couldn't stand the tranny noise.
