Input needed on my vibration conclusion

Ok so theres been a vibration in my car since we installed a new engine, for money and time reasons...we reused the old flywheel and cobra clutch and balancer.. everything was suppose to be 50oz setup. Vibration peaked at 4k rpms, was there with belt off, was there with it in neutral. Vibration could be felt in shifter the a good bit. Swapped harmonic balancer with little effect. I do have new poly bushings on tranny and engine mounts, it is a tremec.

This last week I removed the transmission, and today I took the flywheel off. Along the way I noticed two thing.
A) the throw out bearing had no single rotating axis what so ever.. it wobbled BAD while I spun one side while holding the other in my hand.
B) the flywheel has this part number.. V2122-V2123, which I believe is the correct 50oz flywheel. Another number on it was..24 F 02, which I dont have a clue what that is. Either way, it has 5 good size holes drilled into the backside/wieght. Is that normal?

Now.. I have two ideas.. either the crank is an oldschool pre '83, aka 28oz, and thus Im going to need a whole new 28oz setup. OR the combo of the throw out bearing and a most likely unsurfaced/unbalanced flywheel was causing the vibration... Any suggestion guys? :shrug:
 
The flywheel was Not resurfaced when we put it on, was a time thing.. bolt on bolt off bolt on drop in bolt on, go. Heh, Drive shaft is an aluminum, not rusted.

Can the throw out bearing cause that much vibration? Are those holes in the back of the flywheel stock?
 
Would it be a dumb idea, to get the 50oz new and bolt it up, including the bellhousing and starter.. crank it up and do a visual test. If it seems like it still has a vibration then do the same with a 28oz balancer and flywheel to compare, or would I royall fark things up? Another thing, does the extra support or wieght of the trans on the rear of the engine a major thing, ie.. can I run the engine without the trans hooked up?
 
so uh........ yea

u could run the engine with no tranny i suppose, just make sure that nothing is in the way (i.e., the fan is not touching the shroud, no vacuum lines or hoses stretched and gonna be damaged by the vibration) it makes sense ud still have to push in the clutch pedal to activate the safety switch, maybe just reach down and press the plunger in? pushing in the clutch with no clutch fork attached could cause some problems?
 
Well, those dowl pins.. there needs to be 3three, spaced out? And does the combo of not having those and a pos throw out bearing seem like it would cause a pretty decent vibration in the shifter?

I diddnt put the dowl pins on my firststang when i did the engine and the thing shook really bad. Not to mention that eventually because of the shaking,even using locktite, the bolts that held the clutchon shook loose and caused a whole mess of problems. You can probabbly go over to ford and order a set(they only sell sets of 5) and it will probabbly be here tommorrow and cost 6 dollars like mine did.
 
Get some casting #s off of your crankshaft. Get them from your damper too. Sounds like a classic case of balance mismatch. Guessing can get expensive and running it out of balance will eat up bearings--pronto!! All three parts {damper,crank, and flywheel} MUST be of the same balance. Any one of them will cause a bad vibration if mismatched.
