What all is needed to install a mechanical temperature gauge besides the gauge itself and is it an easy install? Where would I mount it?

More info will help. Mouting will depend upon the length of capillary tube - if it is 6', you are a little limited.

I put mine in the stock temp sender location and relo'd the stock sender to the rear port on the driver-side lower intake.

Good luck.

I prefer mechanical because they generally have a greater needle sweep and are not as likely to fall dependant upon charging system fluctuations.

I'm going for dependability here, and I've heard that the mechanical gauges are the most accurate.
