I bought a used aftermarket cobra RR hood

we tried getting the hood on but had problems
first the studs that go in the hood, they have play and are kinda loose
and second we just could not get that mofo lined up properly...

also how do i install hood pins? how do you remove the part under those rubber stoppers

I don't know of any studs that hold the hood on, do you mean the bolts that go into the hinge bracket? If so, and they are bottoming out, you need shorter bolts. If the hood is to high/low in the back, then you need to raise/lower the hinge. If it won't line up along both fenders, you need to get it close to where you want it, then loosen and move the fenders to give you an even gap. The rubber stoppers are for adjusting and aligning the front edge of the hood when closed.. If you remove them the hood latch will not have anything to pull the hood tight against. To install hood pins, find a location on the inner fender or radiator cover area you like, drill holes to mount the pins, then see where they strike the underside of the hood, drill holes in hood, adjust untill they pin on tight.

yeah the bolts that go in the brackets are kinda woobly.. but they dont buttom out or anything.

yeah they werent lining up to the fender.. i didnt realize you could adjust the fender...well how do i get the hood to lock correctly? It wouldnt push all the way on the hood latch.

As for hood pins, the hood already has hood pin holes, and they line up to the rubber stoppers so they have to be removed but i couldnt find a way to move the square piece of metal under the rubber thing.

If you remove the latch itself, you will find it is located by 2 pins/studs. If you remove those, you can adjust the latch mechanism to wherever it needs to be to lock. I had to move mine down about a 1/4" to get it to lock perfect. You need to find out why the bolts are not getting snug.. you don't want any movement in your hood, front or rear.

I just had a set of steeda hood pins installed by a body shop. I have a Cervini's 95 Corbra R hood and didn't want to "f" it up. I helped at the body shop and we removed the rubber stoppers, Just pull them off the metal stud. Remove the old bolts. Drill holes in the rubber stoppers to fit down on the pin stud. Lock a bolt down on the stopper when the hood is just lined up and slide the pins in. If you have wobble in your pins, that's bad. That is insurance and I don't pay for cheap insurance! PM me for more details if you want.
