just ordered some gauges from autometer off of ebay...air/fuel,oil pressure, and water temp. they are the lunar series and since autometer discontinued them i figured id get them while i can to match my lunar series gauge cluster as well.

now, these will be going in an 00 GT and ive never actually put in gauges before so i was wondering if anyone could lead me in the right direction on how to hook them up and the best way to run the wires. Ill have the sending units and fittings for them just need some info on how to install them. all 3 are going on the a-pillar.

thanks

If I remember right on a 00', the Defroster button is up next the the headlights??
You can tap off of that for your hot and ground. Id recommend fusing the hot with a 1 amp fuse. For illumination you can tap the blue/white stripe(I think) on the headlight switch. Sender wires go from gauge straight to sender. Theres a rubber plug in the fire wall under the dash next to the steering shaft to run the wires through to the engine bay.
I cut holes in the stock A-pillar cover for future access to the gauge wiring being the Autometer pod fastens right over the top of it with plastic push pins.(have to drill small holes for those). All easy just time consuming.

I did the same thing on my 98 gt. It worked out great:nice:

the oil and water are easy to hook up. the water temp sensor goes in on the d/s of the block there is a bolt that goes toe coolant passage so you can drain the coolant out of the block just take that bolt out and install the sensor in the hole. the oil pressure guage i hooked up right under the oil filter. you will se there is an extra port right under the stock sensor. i used that port you can get a 90 degree adapter to hook up hook the sensor up at lowes i think its a quart inch.
