I got my old ball joints out of my control arms with a sledge hammer. I am adding SN95 joints to my arms. I do not have a ball joint press, and was wondering if there is a way to press them in without one. I do not want to damage the bottom of the joint by hammering on it. Any suggestions?

hit the local parts store. they should loan you a ball joint press. it is a HD version of what Hardman mentioned, but it included adapters and is stout. they work very well (liked it so much i bought one).

dont bang the thing in there. the interference fit is what keeps it in the arm.

good luck.

You could take the A Arms to a Machine shop and let them press them in for you.

I agree about the renting the ball joint press at a local parts store. I did the same, very easy with air tools, or a nive breaker bar.

FYI : Anyone else that wants to get the spindle off the ball joint, just rent a tie rod end puller. It'll pop that sucker off in less than 10 seconds. Just thought I would share. Pickle fork did nothing for me on the Cobra.
