i know how to put the cam in and out but the only part i dont know about is setting the timing chainall back properly at the right place? how do i get everything lined up so that the timing is correct?
theres gonna be a dot on each sprocket small and big they have to face each other, its preatty hard to screw this up, go buy a chiltons manual it wil be a big help, also if ur using s FMS alphabet cam dont for get to advance 4 degrees,
I've never heard of 4 Degrees advaced for alphabet cams. I've installed about a dozen or so and even degreed a few. Always straight up was correct.
Just line up the 2 dots on the timing gears so they line up. (Top gear dot will be on the bottom and Bottom gear dot will be on the top.)
Also bring piston #1 to TDC on the compression stroke. (Put your finger in the spark plug hole until you feel pressure escaping) And you timing mark at that time should be on 0 Degrees. Then drop in the distributor so the rotor faces number 1 on the cap.
