Installing catted X-pipe W/Cat back

How hard is it to remove the stock catback, and the pipe after the headers, and then installing catted x-pipe w/ dual cat back? Would it be smarter to pay someone or would it be a pretty easy do-it-yourself Saturday job?

I think it's pretty easy to do that yourself, but it all depends on your level of knowledge about these things. The only problem you may have is getting the pipe that goes over the axle off. I would save my money and do it myself

Well I do know some, I took Automotive Detailing and Maintenance, also I have had 100+ hours of actual mechanic experience, as an apprentice in Europe, with my grandpa, and I installed an from the headers back on an Audi 100 or what ever the older ones were called... Also next school year I have Automotive Class, for 2 hours everyday for a whole year, where we just work on cars (Can't wait!)
I think i'm just gonna take it to my friends house, cuz his grandpa has all this stuff, cuz they got a like '67 Mustang, and they are putting it back in shape... So i'll take it there and do it myself, I'll post a thread about how it went and etc.

By a Haynes Repair Manual. It tells you how to do all that sh1t. Best book EVER for $15

Hehehe, 98 i already got one, the weird thing is I bought it last year in January, and I didn't get my car until '05 December... :-D and it fit the year I ended up with, lol, I'm gonna look through there and see what I can find...

Also use a sawzall and jut cut the cat back at the axles to get it out.

Can you mix and match pretty much any mid pipe with any cat back, or are they all pretty much universal in length? Just wondering because I have the MAC y-pipe cat back on for about 2 1/2 years now, but i just bought an x-pipe.

well cruising, you're gonna need a new cat back, cuz yours only has one tube that splits into 2 tubes, an x-pipe will have 2 tubes from the beginning, so yo u will need a new cat back... GT's work good, I'm looking at an SLP catted x-pipe w/ SLP Loudmouth II or Power-Flo for the GT...

Actually, the MAC kit comes with a Y section, a small peice that goes from 1 to 2 pipes. I was just wondering if anyone knew if the placememnt and length of that pipe is equal to most others so I can just take off the piece that goes from the header to the 1 pipe, and then the smaller MAC y-pipe section. If it's not the same length, can't I just have an exhaust shop cut off the bolt up end and weld in a piece to complete it?
