installing eibach pro kit next week...any do's and don'ts ?

installing the kit next week, buddy has a real nice garage with a car lift so that will be easier.....any do's and don'ts i should be aware of, or if you have any suggestions on things you found to be easier......


??

Use the sear..... naaa just kidding. Get a pair of camber bolts. Job is easy, I really can't think of any better watch out fors. Some will say replace the shocks/struts and if it's in the budget do it when changing the coils. My '06 with the Eibach Pro kit springs using stock shocks rides and handles fine, IMHO.

should get a pair of camber bolts? Uh Oh amnit: ... I don't have camber bolts, but if they are necessary let us all know!

The deal on the front end of these cars is except for toe they are non adjustable and this is becomming typical with many cars. Lowering creates more negative camber which could lead to accelerated tire wear. Dropping the car about an inch, you still may be OK camber-wise but why not just do the job once. Steeda sells a $190 camber plate - ouch. Several sources for camber bolts that run $20-$30.

More Info on Camber Bolts please....

Could you please tell me a little more about these camber bolts. Where to buy......where they install....... if you could educate me on these it would be greatly appreciated! I may need them......

I just lowered my 05 GT with the Eibach Pro. When I went down to the alignment shop....... they said, "Nope, can't do it." The problem was that the the passenger side ball joint (up against the steering unit; the ball joint under the boot) had too much play in it. My car has 13K miles on it. Sooooooooo.. took it to the dealer and the the dealer agreed. Parts on order. The dealer knows I've lowered it .... BUT, I'm hoping they will perform the alignment. This next week the parts will be in and I'll let you know how I turned out on the deal.

To answer the questions of the orignator of this thread: NO..... there wasn't any problem areas during the install....... none. I really am glad I did the Pro springs...... it would have been too low if I had gone the Sportline route IMO. AS it is right now, we've got a few speed bumps in town that I now have to find a way around.

I have the Sportline Springs and rode on them without changing the shocks and struts for about 4 months before I installed my Tokico D-specs I had know other choice nobody had any adjustable shocks out yet. I can tell you the ride got stiffer after a few months on the stocked struts. The 16 way adjustable shocks and struts took care of that.

Buy the $20 Eibach camber bolts. The allignment guy had no problem alligning my car after the pro spring install. Eibach should just include them with the springs......But my car is in spec ...looks great and rides good...Tokico D-specs coming next week.......

Don't forget you'll need a spring compressor to remove the front springs.

definitly get the camber bolts....i did the pro kit without them and everything feels fine but the alignment guy had trouble without the bolts. He did a great job but it is not perfect.

No they did not, i did not have them to install and still don't. I ran the car at Pocono raceway the next weekend and it was fine. You can get away with it like i did but you will get a better alignment if you get them.
