Did you install it yourself? I was thinking about doing that in a few months but wasn't sure how difficult it is.

Yes i installed it myself, at the ford dealership were i work. and its a piece of cake.
i did it the not so proper way so to speak.

I used all the old seals ,bearings , crush sleeves , and put used 3.73's in there, But i did put some new clutch packs in ... hehe.

I checked were pattern on the gears after the install and it was almost perfect, only took me 3 hours and was first time, doing a diff. , i took it for road test afterward and no noises to speak off, not even any vibrations.. go figure.

Awesome. I have the stocks...how do I tell if they're the 2.73's or the 3.08's?

Look at the sticker in the drivers side door jam, under the letters AX you will have a m-2.73 or z-3.27...you'll probably have the 2.73.

I have a "Z" under AX. I guess that's a good thing...3.27's, I won't be worrying about getting gears very soon. What are the conditions of having the 3.27's over the 2.73's...just a premium package I guess?

I think you mean 3.08's for the "z" code. No manual transmission 5.0L fox mustang came from the factory with 3.27s. The only option was 3.08s, with the 2.73's being standard. With the autos the only option was 3.27's, again with 2.73's being standard.

it's easiest to look on the tag on the axle, it'll say what' its' got. It'll have a number such as 2 followed by a letter, then something like 73, that means you have 2.73's.

AOD cars could get them as an option -- as stated earlier.

Nice job on the gear install -- got lucky reusing everything like that.
