Intake Air Temp Sensor Problems

Not sure why I can't get the plug to go into the sensor but maybe someone can help me.. I switched the sensor from my stock intake to the gt40 intake and now it won't plug in. It seems that no matter what I do the plug and sensor just don't line up.. I took pictures of both, maybe someone can help. I expect to get some hate, I seem to be able to take apart but never can put it back together without issues

Is it possible you mixed up the coolant temp sensor and the intake air temp sensor? They do look similar.

That's not the right sensor for that plug. It doesn't line up. There are two sensors that look the same....one is the IAT and one is the ECT...one has a little wire with a blob on the end ( IAT )...one has a enclosed brass end ( ECT )

The IAT screws into air passage....ECT screws into coolant passage.

It does look like you switched the sensor positions. My car was the same way when I bought it. It'll run pig rich if you leave it like that, and your temp gauge won't work. It'll also ruin your ACT sensor. It'll also not run correctly.

hmm ok thats what i was beginning to think. maybe somehow i switched sensors because im almost positive it was plugged in before and the car was running good

thanks for the detailed picture, that helped a lot. do you know of any good pictures of where the pcv valve vaccuum line should be routed from? does it matter where its supplied from ?

Not sure what you did. But the temp gauge doesn't work off of the ECT sensor.

The temp sender for the gauge was installed in the ACT/IAT sensor location, and vise versa. I misspoke on sensor/sender.
