Hey Guys
Just preparing for my gt40 intake swap...and I was just wondering which intake gasket kit I should get.
I have the lower which has the hole for internal emission, as well as the upper has the emissions port.
Which gasket kit should I get to block these ports? Are there specific explorer years?
Thanks guys
Joe

And it terms of the bolts...upper and lower bolts can be re-used?

Thanks guys, so this should take care of the head to intake port.
And in terms of the upper-lower gasket, it shouldn't really matter because nothing will be flowing up that hole anyway? So a gasket with that hole in the middle will be fine?
And I've never done an intake swap before...so just a thin coat of RTV sealant around the water ports?

Thanks again
Joe

You get one of these. This is what I run and I think Fel-Pro makes them. They are cheaper and don't come with the cork just gaskets.

Summit (ford) part #
FMS-M-9439-B302

FMS-M-9439-A302

But with that how do I block off the EGR port?

And BTW, would any local store stock these parts besides a dealership?

you dont need to block it off unless your deleting it and even then there are other ways.

If your going to run a elbow that will block off the internal intake pass. Our external style egr will work with either internal or external egr intakes (since the elbow blocks off the ports).

If your running a fox t-body swap and want to delete the egr get an egr delete plate. I would just install the gaskets without blocking anything, that way if you want to go with a fox t-body swap you can keep your egr (no reall need to delete it unless its really busted). Since our eec with a blocked EGR untuned will prob. cause a ping/det. issue.

Okay, I get what your saying...so I don't even need to worry about which gasket set I get, as long as its for the right intake...but felpro makes the best gasket.
I do have the elbow adapter...its an ebay piece but seems to be pretty well made.

And about the old intake bolts...they will work fine?

Thanks again everyone
Joe
