Hello,

Wondering if anybody out there could help me out? I've got a 98 GT and my thermostat area which is part of the intake manifold is cracked what I'm wondering is when I buy the new Intake Manifold with Aluminum Crossover should I have someone install it? or install it myself? How long would it take me to replace it and how difficult is it on a scale from 1 - 10. I'd like to get it back on the road as quickly as possible so if someone could let me know I'd greatly appreciate it.

Well I can tell you this much, I had to have mine replaced on my 96 GT and I didn't feel like messing with it. I had my trusted mechanic of 8 years fix it. He told me what they had to do..it took them a total of 9 hours of course they have all the right stuff in their garage to do the swap. It looked like a lot of stuff they had to take off..I mean plenum, air box and tube..and a whole lot more things. of course my total came to be $675 and change with parts and all.

1st do you have a torque wrench and is it your first time out with something this intricate? i would give it a 7 on the hard scale (if your a first timer)if this i your first time with something like this have a buddy help you out. schmooze hime with a case of beers......
i would say diy if you have a haynes manual (atleast) and a torque wrench.

First off, the settlement hasn't actually happened. As for the actual details, MANY cars will be denied.

the install of the new intake isn't that hard. I would recommend upgrading to a PI intake instead of the NPI replacement. It will help your power above 4krpm's and gain you about 15rwhp. Do a search and you will find lots of information on this. I may have a article or two on this install if you need them.
