For any non-tech types who are looking for a cheap and easy intake mod, this is your baby here. I perfomed this because: (1) I purchased a K&N for the stock airbox before I discovered Stangnet and the various CAI's within, and (2) My skills are best described as mechanically declined. Anyway, I removed the stock silencer assembly and replaced it with 2 1/2" SCEET duct and 2 clamps. SCEET is hi-temp silicone impregnated (no jokes here) duct with an outer and inner liner (for smooth airflow), with a spiral wire in the center. I got mine at the local airport (where I work); you may find an equivalent in other areas (auto or farm parts?). Surprisingly, I saw no increase in intake noise (that may disappoint some of you, but not my wife). Results are increased throttle response, especially below 2500, and 1-2 MPG increase!!??!! Hey, that's what the numbers say!! OK So much for my technical contribution to this forum. I promise to shut up now and not to submit any more cheesy upgrades. P.S. It was a previous owner, not I, who thought the entire engine would look just great with a nice coat of silver spray paint. Ranks a rot, pal!

mine has more bling and only cost $40... doesnt require you to be mechanically inclined other than a ratchet, socket, and a screwdriver.

Furvel, keep in mind you'll have to keep the MAF in there, so it won't be quite as clean as ka0tyk's.

GOOD GRIEF!! And I thought all I did was inspire among my fellow stangnet'ers. Thanks, whiskerz, for the validation.
