Intake question

Ok so I just bought a 90 LX 5.0 bone stock. The only thing done to it is a cone filter. This thing is huge though it's a good 12"s long I know more is a good thing but to me it seems like its killing my low end toqure. Is tis ture or am I just trippn'?

the actual size of the filter wont hurt performance.

if it is in the engine bay all your doing is sucking in the hot air from the engine so ya it prob would hurt that way but not beacuse of size.
