Hey I have a 95 GT and i was told that an intake of a 5.0 explorer has the same flow as a gt-40 intake. Is this true? Bc you can get one from a wrecker for next to nothing, any light you could spread on this would be much appreciated.:canada:

Not sure how much you are going to pay for one of these but you can get a 94-95 cobra intake for cheap, then you don't need an elbow and IMHO they are much nicer looking intakes than the explorer intakes...

Lets look beyond ... how it looks or if you need an elbow and focus
on power gains as it looks like you are wanting more performance.

An intake is a good motor mod and its right up there with the mid
pipe upgrade for a mod you will feel for sure :nice:

The thing about an intake is you wanna have a long term plan in
place or it might not be good for you later ... thus ... costing you
more money and work.

Remember ... every time you swap one, you got the cost of
gaskets, oil, filter, coolant, etc ... so ... it adds up ;)

Of course if you find one with little money in it ... you can always
move it to some other Stanger when it is no longer effective.

With the oem intakes you will get a gain in mid range for sure :)
but
They don't flow well enough to be all that effective beyond 5K :(
however
You can port them to extend the range a bit :)

Just know you can easily have close to the same or same money
you would pay for an after market intake tied up in one by the time
you add the purchase and porting price :bang:

To me ... Modding a Stang is always about ...
What do you want the final result of your car to be :Word:

I went .36sec quicker than my previous best in the 1/4 mile with just the explorer intake and professional produducts elbow adapter.

Nothing else was changed. I didn't even pull the distributor out during the intake swap.
