hi. i have not had much of a chance to look around. could someone point me in the direction of threads that talk about cold air intakes, etc. for the 95' Gt. I did a search but found mostly stuff about the intake manifold. My car is a automatic and stock with 38,000 miles. it is time for a new air filer and was thinking of spending a little money.
what all do you guys recommend? k&n, mac?? it also appears that some of them replace the mass air flow sensor? is this good or bad?
thanks, I really appreciate it.

A CAI is not really worth much in hp until you do the intake, heads and exhaust upgrades that need to have a better breathing filter. They are good for cleaning up the engine bay clutter and gives better access to parts in the engine bay. Your best bet for purchasing a CAI is ebay for about $100 less than the name brand CAI. They work just as good too. Otherwise, you can build your own for even less money.

I'm gonna get one of those cheap $25 ebay CAI's, purely for the bling factor and to get rid of the clunky factory air box and piping. I'm not expecting any power gain from it.

I can tell you I got a very noticable gain with my home made cai.

There are several kinda depends upon conditions however IMHO.

The filter needs to draw in fresh cool air from the fender.

The more bends, the less effective the cai is gonna be.

Your largest gain will be when the temps are cooler.

You may go a bit leaner with a cai which can be a bad thing on the GT Stangs which are too lean from the get go.

If you got an afpr, you may get some help from it
but
there is no guarantee as the pcm might dial back your enrichment.
