Hey guys, I was thinking about picking up a 1/2" plenum spacer, figured maybe it would make a little performance difference. Has anyone done one and what do you think of it?

Thanks!

only use one if you have trouble with valve cover interferance - not a performance gain cause it ain't there.

+1, its pretty much a scam. Like said above, use it for VC clearance or something like that. I'd be willing to bet it has more effect on performance because of lengthening the intake runner than it does on heat transfer- if any effect at all. Had one on my car with the old intake manifold, and I just don't know that it did anything whatsoever.

Its also kind of a PITA to install, because you have the gasket on top and bottom wiggling all over the place.

I have a 1" spacer in between my Trickflow intakes, and I couldnt tell you if it helps performance or not. I will tell you that my hood wouldnt shut until I cut the bracing out from the underside of the hood. It came with the intake (used), and I couldnt clear the stock v/c's without it.

I installed one on my Explorer intake, couldn't tell a difference at all.I then bought Cobra finned aluminum valve covers.THAT'S the difference. It's an expensive spacer to fit valve covers.
