Who has used one of those phenolic spacers on an edelbrock intake?

Im looking into a NX kit and it uses the same size spacer to fit the spray bars into. Can this fit under a stock hood. Specifically a 96 cobra hood?

Any info would be great.

What size is it? 3/8" or 1/2"....or 1" My guess is that you'd be fine with all 3, but if you're not sure, why don't you take a glob of play-doh and set it on all the highest points of your intake and close the hood. If it comes into contact with your hood, you've got your answer.

Did you try this spacer yet?

I don't think you'd get away with it if its a 1" spacer. I did the playdough technique and I think I remember it only being 3/4" but its been a while since I did it. The closest spot is the very front driverside corner.

I'm trying to get a pair of Ford RAcing "tall" valve covers to fit on my car. They will fit for sure with a 1 inch spacer, but I doubt the intake will fit under the hood/blanket. The way I measured it the valve covers will be REALLY close with a 3/8" spacer.

Yeah, but only in the center.

BTW, no I dont have the NX kit yet. I will be purchasing that in the spring. A built rear end is first, then slicks, the my dual stage kit. 3/4 inch spacer will clear though, I talked to someone here in chitown that had one. But the intake would barely touch. Just enough to leave a mark.
