Does anyone know of a book or something that shows what parts are used on what cars? For example, what vehicles have T5 transmissions that are mostly compatible with an 85 Mustang?

I see posts all the time where someone says xxx off a 19__ whatever will fit...someone must have compiled a book by now!

Official 5.0 Mustang Technical Reference and Performance Handbook

This book has the information about what changes were made and what years. It goes through the cars year by year. Then it goes through the major areas of the car. It is officially licensed by Ford.

85 was the first year for a world class trans. get an 85-93 mustang t5. Don't use the 4 banger ones, they are weaker. you can use the 94/95 ones, but a few changes have to be made due to a longer input shaft.

well there were some slight differences in the tranny's from 85-93 as well though.
