im not exactly sure what the difference is between the intercooler and aftercooler units on the 03' cobra. I think that when stock there is an intercooler located below the eaton blower, and a unit behind the front bumper? well im guessing if you get the kb, it has the intercooler right below it, but what about getting an aftermarket unit located near the bumper to complement the kb? im not exactly sure what im talking about but i know there is one behind the bumper. heres a aftermarket "heat exchanger" http://www.rpmoutlet.com/03cobraheat.htm
also, what about the vortech water surge tank? http://www.vortechsuperchargers.com/news/cobra_tank.html
thanks for your help

You're correct. Cobra's come with an intercooler that is bolted to the bottom of the intake. There is a heat exchanger in the lower bumper opening that's coupled to this intercooler. The KB supercharger utilizes the same stock intercooler and heat exchanger system. You have to reuse the intercooler for the KB unit.

There are a 4 or 5 different aftermarket heat exchangers available for the 03/04 Cobra. They will help to prevent heat soak on pullied Eatons or KB units. I hear Gords HE is one of the best available. Do a search over at SVTPerformance.com for Gordsford and you'll find a link for his unit.
Then there is this new unit that was just released by Xtreme Motorsports:

Xtreme Engineering

The larger surge tank link you referenced is really not needed if you go with a larger heat exchanger. That Vortech surge tank goes in place of the battery so you have to relocate the stock battery to the trunk. It does increase the capacity of coolant supply over the stock surge tank.

None of this is required to run a smaller pulley you know. These mods do make a big difference if you do a lot of running where you are in extended boost conditions, like road racing or hot lapping the drag strip.
