I want to get a intercooler. I don't weld so I need a complete bolt on Kit. Is there any other kit out there besides the paxton that is bolt on. I know I will have to weld a bypass. With the paxton,a bypass, and a flange it's going to be near 1800 bucks. I see just intercoolers on modularpowerhouse for 400 bucks. So the paxton kit is a grand more for just some plumbing, hose clamps, bolts etc. There's got to be a better way. Also, does anybody know how much horsepower the paxton can handle.thanks

I have the paxton and its a great kit and was a sinch to install. I remeber talking to Tim at MPH and he said the Paxton IC was good for like 1000-1200hp.

just buy a IC off ebay and make a DIY FMIC like I did

I see 90^ IAC @ 100 + ^ outside. That's 100% efficiency

I bought a 3" kit from CXRacing with all the 3"aluminum piping a t-bolt clamps for $250.00, call them first he will deal with you on shipping. I then bought a Vortech Mini race bypass valve USED on EBAY for $180.00. All in all thats pretty cheap for a pretty good quality FMIC. I will be converting to blow through so I have to buy a new MAF but then I'll be done. I hope

I am using a cx racing 4in intercooler set up. I had all my piping welded because I'm running 18lbs of boost. But you can bolt it all on and make it fit right. My IAT are at 78* with outside temp of 60* and drop to 58* when my meth starts to spray.

Do you have a draw through setup now? If you put an intercooler on there...keep in mind you may need a new MAF and a new tune as well...it isn't just "bolt on an inctercooler" and drive...

Did you put your intercooler on after you had your blower, or did you put it on the same time? If after, how much of a difference was it? Were you impressed?

After the blower.

I pullied down while adding the IC like most people do. There was a definate gain in power. I don't remember what I picked up on the dyno but I remember going OMG while getting on it for the first time after the retune.

Did you have to change to a blow through setup? Did you need a retune?

No you don't have to change to a blow-through, but you do need to upgrade your BPV if its the stock Bosch one the Vortech kit comes with.

I got a retune just to take full advantage of the IC and smaller pulley and I would reccomend at least checking you AFR if you pulley down with the IC.

Thank you Mr. Yellow.I'm sold. Which pulley size did you get? What is a blow through setup?

I don't remeber what size pulley I went to. Just call Tim at MPH and he can set you up with everything you need.

A blow through setup is a different different setup for you MAF. If you run that you usually run a BOV instead of a BPV. Prochargers use the blow through setup for some reason.

Blow thru is better for driveability. It is a bit more trouble to tune but more acurate of a reading.
