What are some regular hardware brand spray paints that match the regular interior black? I bought a flat black but I think it should be more of a semi gloss? I'm painting the black plastic lip around the wood grain on the instrument gauges.
Semi gloss black is the closest you'll get. Rustoleum, Plasti-Kote, or Duplicolor seem to be decent. For true matches, you'll need to go through a restoration outfit.
krylon has a satin black that is really close and looks very nice, it's more of an eggshell gloss to it. i believe it is in the the "interior decorator" line or something like that
I have always liked the Krylon #1613 semi-gloss. It gives it the best of both worlds, not to glossy and not to flat. I also recommend that Plastic primer with the bulldog on it (I wish I could remember the name) but it makes the paint stick.
The deluxe interiors (I am not sure of the standard ones) in 67 were not actually black, they were a VERY dark charcoal gray. If you buy factory repro paint you'll be able to see the difference.
