I've been wanting to change the color on part of my interior door panels but I don't know how or what is the right way which will last in a daily driver.

I found these pictures of a stang near me which has this mod done. I've tried to contact him but he doesn't seem to respond. Maybe he doesn't want anyone coping him? Here's the picture of the door panel:

I used the VHT plastic primer and then their plastic paint. i didn't do the door panels but instead on a new gauge bezel that came in black from autometer.

here's a pic to give you an idea of how it came out.

my only thought on the door inserts and other 'touchable' interior pieces, is that you might want to clearcoat as a final step. the rest of the interior is my next step with that stuff too but i just havent had the time to hit up a junkyard for a spare piece of plastic to use as a test for spraying different combos.

thanks wannabe2000GT, i'm an 00 gt too :)

the tranny temp gauge is fantastic. since i'm an auto it's really a must have imo with a cooler as well..

the afr gauge on the other hand is a completly useless POS and i should of done some searches online before just buying on. but since it was only like 40 from jegs i'll just replace it when i get around to taking that stuff apart again.

didn't want to thread jack, was more to show how the VHT plastic paints look on the ford plastic without clearcoat. that's their 'ford tan' color btw.

He didn't paint the interior door panels that way.

They came two-tone like that from the factory, at least for '94 and '95. In one of the cost reductions which happened between '96 and '98, the door panels went from beinging two-tone to solid color monochrome.

IMHO, I really the two-tone interior of the first SN95 model years better than the later monochrome.

I am pretty sure that the door panels are interchangeable from '94 to '04. Just be careful of color changes over the years. The light tan used in '94 is different than the light tan used in '04.

I had a '95, and I know from that, that the door panels were still just one piece of plastic, with just 1/2 of it painted from the factory.

It might be difficult to find a new one anymore, even from Ford.
