I tried to buy a Shelby, but with prices ranging from 65k to 74k my return in 10 to 15 years would be eaten up by hype. So I got an 06 Saleen 281sc 435 hp loaded. In the next few years though, the Shelby will be available at list, and possibly much improved then present. He's 83. When he dies the value will increase the investment. WHICH WILL BE WORTH MORE IN 10 TO 15 YEARS? Saleens are fewer.............

Neither.

No new car can be considered an "investment" no matter how exotic or unusual. This is particularly true for mass produced cars like the Mustang, whether it's a GT500 or a Saleen.

Anybody who would pay the currently inflated advertised prices for a GT500 is either a complete fool or an ignoramus of epic proportions.

new cars will never be an investment, the second you drive it off the lot it goes down in value. buy a house if you want to make investments

Do not buy a new car as an investment period. End of story.

Enjoy the Saleen. Drive the hell out of it. That's why they were built.

I know of a nice gentleman who purchased an Enzo new and re-sold it with 1,000 miles on it for a $300,000 profit.

Not exactly in our league but it can happen.

With that said, a house is always a better investment unless it's the Jonbenet Ramsey house.

I'm not into cars as an investment, mileage and value mean little to me as long as i'm enjoying it.

i agree... the only return i want on what i pay for a car is the fun i have driving it, and maybe in the case of my bright lime comet, people's reactions...
