Ipod hook up to aftermarket hu

If you use the KW adaptor, it will be a direct connection and sound the best. Your other option would be to use a FM transmitter, but the sound quality sucks.

Other than that, you would have to change you head unit too, and most brands interface are pretty close to the same. I am sure they will get better as newer generation adaptors become available.

PM me if you are interested on a KW adaptor.

Most decks have an input on them, but they are less than optimum sound quality. Nearly any interface will degrade the quality.

What I run in both my truck and car is a deck that plays MP3/WMA. I can put 120-150 songs on one CD, and its excellent quality. I only paid a little over 200 each for the decks too. Probably the best solution, just burn the songs from your IPOD on to a 10 cent CD!

A direct input on the back of a deck is a direct input, no loss. An adaptor can give you loss, but the ones from the manufacturer of the deck is designed to work with the input on head unit, so there is no loss. Also, specifically on the Kenwood's, the iPod comes in via the same data stream that the Nav/CD Changer/Music Keg/Satellite radio all would come in on.

Also, I have about 35GB on my iPod, so that is a little more than 50 CDs, all in MP3 format. Burning them all back to CDs would kinda defeat the purpose of the iPod if you ask me.
